A busy morning out on Racecourse Side with several strings galloping

Plenty of work watchers from Flint Cottage this morning

A very mild but overcast morning and we have taken the first lot of workers across to Racecourse Side. We have also been inundated with owners this morning and a group of friends that bought a morning on the gallops from a charity auction, so as you can imagine there was plenty of chat and banter flying about. All went well though and Angie had cooked everybody a big Newmarket breakfast.

Smokey Oakey (Butch) and Dazinski (Steve) stretching their legs

Our runner yesterday, Ice Magic, did not have the best of runs through the race, especially on the bend where he got flattened - it was six of 0ne and half a dozen of  the other - but I don't think he got the best of rides either. Don't get me on that one!

Barwick (Ashley), Izzet (Liam Jones) and Old Boy Ted (Colin)

One runner today at Leicester, Astrodiva, in the 5.40 pm race. She has not run for 364 days but has always been ultra-consistent and very unlucky not to have won a race or two. She will benefit greatly from this outing today but has done enough work to run and should run with credit today; although, she is not drawn very well.
