Garrel Glen and Melo Pearl

It's a bright but cold morning and the temperatures have certainly dropped as the light came up. We have a full complement of staff who can all ride well, and we have had a really great morning out on the Heath. They have done two pleasing canters after a good warm up and everything is moving and looking very well. We shall be having runners on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and maybe some at the weekend.

Velvet Vista and Belle Bayeux

There was excellent racing at Ascot on Saturday, despite the ground, with good results for our local trainers. What a year John Gosden has had, and he has juggled his horses so that they all managed to win a massive pot.  When you have a stable full of top performers keeping them apart is a very tricky. Many congratulations to him being Champion Trainer once again.

It was marvellous to see the Queen being awarded the 2018 Longines Ladies Award. This is given to women who make an outstanding contribution to the equestrian world. Her Majesty has a passion for all horses and we are very lucky to have her involved in our industry. Long may she reign.
